Shop local and help support your community during the holidays! According to a recent article in the East Bay Express, if you pledge to spend $100 of your shopping budget locally this season, “you will have a potential $58.8 million dollar impact on our community, an estimated $8.75 million dollars more than if it was spent at a non-local big box retailer.” I would add that it’s a much more pleasant shopping experience to stroll a local fair than it is to fight crowds in the mall, and local fairs are much more child-friendly. If I had a nickel for every meltdown I’ve seen in a mall, I would be a very rich woman! So, on we go to the Roundup:

San Francisco Bay Area

CCA (California College of the Arts) Holiday Fair: Featuring the work of very talented CCA students, alumni, and faculty {Dec. 6, 11am-3pm, located at their Oakland Campus, 5212 Broadway at the intersection of Broadway & College Ave., Free Admission}
