What To Do With All Those Stray Socks…

Author and Crafter Miyako Kanamori has taken it upon herself to solve that stray-sock issue once and for all: Make Softies! Each of her wonderful books provides loads of creative (and fairly easy!) things to make with all of those stray socks and gloves missing a mate. I just love the idea of being able to take something worthless and make something so adorable out of it!

Sock and Glove begins with an adorable children’s story using photographs of her “Softy Friends” as characters, and follows up with clear instructions for making all of the little animals featured.

Happy Gloves: Charming Softy Friends Made from Colorful Gloves includes patterns for all sorts of colorful creatures, like this Chipmunk Softy:
