Yay! Etsy has teamed up with the wonderful organization Citymeals-on-wheels to provide home delivered hot meals along with special handmade Valentines to home-bound elderly New Yorkers on Valentine’s Day. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to do a bit of crafting for a good cause.

Cards can be handmade (have your children make some!) or purchased. Include your own warm message in each card (the more cards the better!), and be sure to get them to Etsy no later than Monday, February 2, 2009, in order to be included in the holiday delivery. There are a few guidelines to keep in mind when making your cards (for instance, they do not want any cards with glitter, as it can get in the food), which are all outlined in the Share Your Love post on the Etsy blog. Citymeals-on-wheels serves over 18,000 home-bound elderly people in NYC, so every card will be greatly appreciated!
