This is just too awesome not to share: Gabrielle Blair of Design Mom just hosted a science-themed “Young Einstein” party for her daughter Maude’s 10th birthday (Maude is center, below), with a little help from Science Explorers of New York. The kids made fake snow, green slime, gooey worms, watched liquid nitrogen demonstrations, had a chocolate milk taste-test, and enjoyed “brain” cupcakes. The kids all got to take home samples of the experiments along with some geek-chic mini clipboards with graph paper that Gabrielle put together. This looked like so much more fun than the typical kids party, don’t you think? And just look at those kids – fierce.

If you want to try your hand at hosting a science party, Steve Spangler Science is a great online resource for ordering fake snow, worm goo, green slime, and more. These projects are a big hit with kids from preschool age all the way through elementary school. And be sure to check out Design Mom for more party details.
