Hmmm… creativity, one of my favorite subjects! Yes, I do make room for creativity in life and I do it by “scheduling” it into my day. Some creative things I’m currently doing are photography, singing, songwriting, interior decorating, fashion design (or should I say putting together fun and exciting outfits for the entire family), gardening and exterior decorating. Some of the creative things I would like to do are to rollerskate, draw, paint and chalk draw with my kids this summer so… onto the schedule it goes! :0)

Kristina – Good point about TV!! I think many people do not realize how much time (that could be used for creative, fulfilling, satisfying pursuits) is sucked up by the TV.

Alison – I’m with you on the writing thing! I think that having a blog is a wonderful way to tap into that creativity, and you never know – a book could come out of the blog (that seems to be happening more and more)! Blogging is wonderful because it is a manageable way to get yourself writing everyday. Thanks for contributing to the discussion

Ironically, the birth of my daughter rekindled my creative desires even though some days, the wonderful demands of motherhood leave me without time to fully express it. Rising earlier has given me a few sacred hours every morning. Between 5 and 6 you'll find me at the sewing machine or here, reading. It's so nice to meet you. I’ve tried a number of creative things over the years – knitting, sewing, painting, drawing, piano, and classical guitar – but really I’m a born writer and I think this is the one I will stick with now that I blog. It’s funny, whenever I told people who know me that I’m selling books their first question was, “Did you write the books?” I guess sometimes friends and family know us better than we know ourselves. I’ve not written a book yet – so far I’m happy with blogging – but you never know…

I guess I also consider gardening and cooking creative and I do both of those as well as writing. How to find the time? It helps when your kids get older, but other than that I spend less time on cleaning than some people I’m sure

Beuatiful, thought-provoking post! Not having a tv is pretty important to me-- I think it enables me to get in more creativity time than I would otherwise. Also, there's a broad array of activities that are creative (not just sewing and knitting projects like Amanda's).
