Morgan - This is so funny. I have Animal, Vegetable, Miracle sitting on my
bookshelf *right now*, but I haven't started it yet! Glad to hear your
good review; I look forward to reading it :) I also saw the Backyard Homestead book in the bookstore this week (great
minds think alike!) - I haven't bought it either, but it looks like a
fantastic resource.

I just finished reading "Animal Vegetable Miracle" by Barbra Kingsolver a couple of months ago and it completely alters how you look at food. I think it would be right up your alley. It had me dreaming about raising chickens! (I was born and raised in a rural area and totally miss asparagus and stawberries right in my back yard). I saw "Backyard Homestead" book today when I was at a local bookstore. It looked great... now I wish I would've bought it! I also saw another called "The Urban Homesteader" which was more my speed since we live in the city. CSA's are the solution for us :)

great blog.
