La la la, it was so sunny here yesterday, I went for a nice, long walk in the sunshine and I can really tell now that Spring is coming. This week, I have gathered up a few goodies from Etsy in cheery, sunny, happy colors. Just looking at these little treats makes me want to plan a camping trip and a fiesta!

Okay, so I usually don’t do Etsy stuff until Friday, but this is too genius not to share immediately: Chiara, a 25 year old marine sciences student in Genoa, Italy, who also happens to love Harry Potter, started experimenting with bookbinding and crafting in her spare time, and thankfully for us decided to start selling her wares on Etsy.

Let’s have a peek inside her shop, celestefrittata:

Chiara says, “during my last weekend at Hogsmeade I stocked up on Owl Post Supplies!” I love these cards – each set comes with a matching envelope and magical stamps.

She also makes hand-bound books and journals with lusciously thick paper and screen printed covers, covering all of the Hogwarts curriculum: Herbology, Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Defense Against the Dark Arts…

…and to wrap it all up, the Owl Post Gift Wrapping Kits come with a printed cotton muslin bag and an assortment of shipping tags that say things like “Magical Gift Inside” and “Return to Owl Office”.

Happy Friday, everyone! This week’s Etsy finds include lovely handmade ceramics, delicate jewelry, handcrafted blocks, creative toys, and a little gorgeousness from San Salvador…

First up, we have Jill Rosenwald’s swoon-worthy handmade ceramics – any of which would make a fantastic Mother’s Day gift; Wood Elements creates all sorts of beautiful hand-turned wood items like this smooth French rolling pin, as well as handmade biscuit-cutters and children’s rolling pins for play dough.

This sounds like an awesome game for the little ones: the Playground Scavenger Hunt Cards from Blynken & Nod ask children to find things like “A Beautiful Weed” and “A Forgotten Toy”, and the cards come in their own cute little pouch; The Pirate Supply Kit from Miss Natalie comes with a bandana, eye patch, message in a bottle, Booty Bag filled with wood coins, Polly the Parrot pin, and a treasure map; Zoo Loo Naturals makes a wide range of really well crafted natural wood blocks; Handy little Color Pencil Roll from Bloom Woosie.

San Salvador-based Zelaya specializes in making clothes from natural fabrics – I love the delicate petals and scoop-back on this organic cotton top, and the cheerful botanical embroidery on the raw cotton Primavera Handbag; Andean silk necklace from tinctory; Golden bangles with beads from Shlomit Ofir.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lovingly handmade dolls and toys for the little ones, nature-inspired art, and a few little treats for you and your home fill today’s Etsy finds. Enjoy!

Wood and lace – This sweet little hook from Coquelicot is made from (naturally) fallen trees; Gorgeously smooth hand-turned maple bowl from Urban Turn; The “lace” in this necklace by Fox & Clover is actually hand painted on recycled glass; I am in love with this set of heirloom vegetable seeds packaged in tiny glass apothecary vials from Seed Circle Heirlooms.

These dolls from Simpli Jessi obviously have so much love and care put into them: from their clothing and accessories (love those stitched-on glasses!) to the little story that comes with each and every one, these dolls are oozing personality. Clockwise from the top left: Juan enjoys fishing and teaches salsa dancing, Francoise rides a little green scooter and likes jam and toast, Louise plays a mean air guitar, and Elona is a math whiz and special agent.

A fresh, crisp and sunny Spring day – that’s what I think of when I look at this happy little group of items! I could see using this hand-carved Beet Stamp from Whimsy By Jess to make your own Spring party invites, or to make a little set of thank you notes; The minty green Mrs Cow Tote from Strand redesign is made from recycled fabrics and comes in both child and adult sizes; Nature Collection Print from Geninne’s Art Store; Sweet little Tea Love Mug Cozy from KnitStorm.

Marew! I love the faces on the little Herringbone Kitties and Lion Kitty, both from Penguin & Fish; Beautifully crafted natural oak Rolling Sheep toy from Tactile Baby; Kitty Egg Crayons from Kitty Baby Love are ergonomically shaped for little hands, and do double-duty as wee toys.

This week’s Etsy finds are nature-inspired. With spring coming, I have been noticing the bugs waking up – I’ve spotted one lazy honeybee, two flies, and a beetle so far. My neighbor’s daffodils are coming up in the garden, the sun is shining a little brighter, and life is good. After being cooped up all winter, I feel like it’s time to start exploring nature again. Here are a few things that caught my eye…

1. Can I tell you how much I love these Going Places Sandwich Bags from Evelyn Fields? Total genius! If everyone used these to pack snacks instead of ziploc bags, imagine how much plastic waste would be saved! And since they are machine washable, they should pretty much last forever – think about how much you spend each year on plastic. Now is $18.50 for 4 bags too much to ask? I don’t think so.
2. This Small Bug Box ($16) from Birchleaf Designs is handmade of pine, cedar, birch bark, and leather. Just add some moss and leaves to make a secure little temporary home for backyard bugs.

3. Don’t these Super Fun Pirate Patch Pants ($35) from Go Monkey Design just look like they were made for kids to have a blast in? I thought so, too.
4. The Animal Tracks Memory Game ($5) from doggiepiggie is a fun way to learn about tracking animals, and it comes in its own neat little pouch – I’m thinking this would be an easy thing to keep in your bag or pocket to stave off boredom on a trip.

5. A bright little Art Supply Tote ($12) is just the right size to hold a coloring book, crayons, and a snack to keep little ones happy in the backyard or further afield; by Bells & Whistles.
6. Meet Oakley, a hand-knit nature teddy ($40) from Woolies: “Oakley just wants to play outside. He took all his books outside this morning, because he wanted to read in the sunshine. He could sit in the treehouse all day, I think!” It’s awesome that Oakley’s overalls are removable, so kids can practice getting him dressed (much more fun than sewn-on clothes!), and he is just begging to find a home in a loving child’s backpack.
And that’s it, folks! Have a fantastic weekend!
